Staff Augmentation
A model where external professionals join and work under your direction as an extension of your in-house team, rather than delivering an outsourced project.
Staff augmentation means adding skilled people to your existing team who work under your direction, in your tools, on your roadmap. They are an extension of your team — not a separate vendor delivering a fixed scope.
The key distinction from outsourcing is control and context. With augmentation, priorities, code review, and knowledge stay inside your team. With outsourcing, an external vendor owns delivery and much of the context leaves when the project ends.
Staff augmentation is the right model when you have an ongoing product roadmap, priorities that shift, and a preference for keeping institutional knowledge in-house.
